What we do
As dental practitioners, most of us work within small businesses. Whether as practice owners or employees, we act as a single-person department for finance, human resources, strategy, and marketing. We do this while caring for our patients in an environment of ever increasing patient expectations, financial pressures, professional regulation and compliance. When challenges arise, it can be a daunting task to overcome the issues without support. Our clinical training does not prepare us to deal with unanticipated challenges, self-reflection and the ability to develop future preventive strategies.
Dental practices and associated health businesses require combined clinical and business solutions. These solutions must be supported by the clinician cohort while being pragmatic for administrators to implement and manage. They must consider the financial and business needs of the organisation while maintaining a patient-centred perspective.
At Cura, we integrate our extensive clinical experience, network of health professionals with broad business and sector knowledge to design solutions for individual dental health professionals and practices.
Industry Experience
Our advisors Dr David Hallett and Dr Kang Kim have over 40 years of combined clinical experience in dentistry. They each bring broader industry experience and wide health sector networks through their respective roles since stepping back from clinical practice.
Dr David Hallett, most recently, was the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Dental Association (WA Branch). He brings expertise in insurance, mediation and management as well as a network of professionals with specific expertise in the health sector. He supports dentists and dental practices navigating compliance requirements with a focus on reducing risk and avoiding signifiant regulatory, financial and professional consequences.
Dr Kang Kim most recently worked in EY’s Health Consulting practice. He managed projects providing advice to health sector clients on clinical processes, organisational systems and transformation. He specialises in helping dental practices structure their operations to improve profitability and ease the administrative burden on practice owners.
Metta Hayribetoglu, is a former dental practice owner and experienced practice management consultant. She works closely with frontline teams to streamline day-to-day workflows and improve patient interactions, helping practices operate more effectively while reducing unnecessary inefficiencies.
